BBB warns people following RV complaints

By Dave Leval 8:58 PM July 30, 2014
ANCHORAGE –

It started off as a dream vacation and ended up as a nightmare for some vacationers.

The Better Business Bureau has received 20 complaints against B&B RV Rental of Anchorage over the last three years.

They come from people in Alaska, Oregon and Washington state.

The complaints say the business failed to honor rental agreements, falsely advertised damaged and unsafe RVs as new models and did not deliver on promises to refund money.

The problems could have been easily avoided, the BBB said.

“This is one of those companies that if people had just researched, they would have seen it had an ‘F’ rating,” said Michelle Tabler, the bureau’s Alaska regional manager. “There were complaints, there were unanswered complaints, they refused to take any more complaints from us.”

Tabler also recommends you read any contract thoroughly before you sign it, and pay by credit card.

Also, never pay the full amount upfront, she said.

KTVA was not able to talk to anyone from the RV company to discuss the complaints.
