The highest number of fire fatalities in thirteen years is prompting safety warnings during the recent extreme cold snap. Three people have died in separate fires since the New Year began and officials say these could have been avoided.

The marching band made its final push Tuesday night, trying to raise the money needed to cover travel expenses.
