ANCHORAGE –

The woman convicted of a hit-and-run that seriously injured a teenager was sentenced in Anchorage court this week.

Earlier this year, a jury convicted 21-year-old Kayla Johnson of driving under the influence, assault, leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with evidence in connection with a 2013 hit-and-run that seriously injured an Anchorage teenager. The incident left Tevin George in a coma with serious head trauma that rendered him unable to walk or talk for a few weeks.

Johnson was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison, and will be eligible for release after 28 months.
