A 68-year-old Anchorage man has been convicted of two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.
Jim Ferguson’s Tuesday conviction comes after two-plus weeks of trial in which the young victim testified about the abuse she endured, said the district attorney’s office.
The victim was 8 years old when Ferguson’s abuse began. When she was 10 she told a family member, who then went to the state Office of Children’s Services. The office then informed the Anchorage Police Department, prosecutors said in a statement.
Ferguson’s sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 21. He could be sentenced to 15 years in prison for each conviction.
