Alaskans ready for zombie apocalypse

By KTVA CBS 11 News 3:14 PM March 25, 2014

Estately, a home sales search website, says Alaska is the state most likely to successfully fight off the undead

ANCHORAGE - Would Alaskans be ready in case of another kind of natural disaster? Like a zombie apocalypse, perhaps?

It sounds like we are. According to a new list put out by Estately, a home sales search website, Alaska is the state ranked most likely to successfully fight off the undead.

Rankings were determined from metrics such as number of active military personnel and people with survival skills, which was based on the percentage of Facebook users who listed “survival skills” as an interest.

People with guns and knowledge of zombies were some other criteria considered.

“Alaska is packed with military personnel and veterans, and they’re only a fraction of the well-armed residents prepared to shoot zombies from a moving snowmobile,” Estately says.

Behind Alaska on the list are Wyoming and Colorado.

The state least likely to survive a zombie apocalypse: New Jersey.
