Jennifer E. Loving, 31, has been in jail since Jan. 28 when she allegedly hid in a bedroom closet and stabbed her neighbor, 29-year-old Jasmine Wells, while burglarizing Wells' home.
Originally arraigned on four felony charges, a grand jury indicted her last week on 17 felony counts of assault, robbery, burglary, criminal mischief and tampering with evidence.
Loving's bail has been increased from $75,000 to $250,000. Additional charges were added to the indictment after the Fairbanks District Attorney's office reviewed the case.
Wells heard a noise in a back room at about 2 a.m. that she thought was made by her boyfriend. When she called out to him, Loving allegedly turned off a flashlight she had with her and crouched in the closet.
When Wells got up to go into the living room, Loving attacked her and stabbed her in the arm, according to a criminal complaint filed in court. Wells reportedly lost two pints of blood during the attack and was in serious danger of losing her arm.
Loving initially denied any involvement in the attack, but she later confessed to stabbing Wells because she was scared. She then took a bag of items from the home and fled, court documents allege.
Loving has several prior misdemeanor convictions.
