A look inside Anchorage Cabela’s

By Shannon Ballard 6:09 PM March 28, 2014

The outdoor superstore will open April 10

ANCHORAGE –

We are still weeks out from the grand opening of the new South Anchorage Cabela’s and anticipation is building.

Our cameras got a sneak peak inside the outdoor superstore Thursday.

It’s 100,000 square feet, complete with wildlife displays, an indoor archery range, gun library, café, and fudge bar.

The chain spent months hiring nearly 300 Alaskans.

The store manager says this Cabela’s strives to supply customers with products from the 49th state.

“We’ve been researching Alaska for quite some time. We’ve had feet on the ground up here making sure that when we open the store we’ve got Alaska products for Alaskan users,” said Cabela’s manager Kevin Weeks.

Cabela’s will open for business April 10.

The store is located near the intersection of Minnesota Drive and C Street.
