Forty performers from across Alaska, the Lower 48, Europe and Canada are preparing to take the stage at Chilkoot Charlie’s for the second annual Freezing Tassel Burlesque Festival.
Performers Lola Pistola and “Pillow” joined Daybreak to talk about the two-day festival. It will feature headliners like the reigning queen of burlesque, Poison Ivory, and World Famous “Bob.”
“Burlesque is a form of exotic dancing that goes way back because it is satire, entertainment, multimedia kind of a thing,” Pillow said. “I’m enjoying this revival. I’m kind of a starry‑eyed newbie after being in the business for so long.”
